Around 300 activists staged a demonstration holding placards
Activists of ‘May 17 Movement’ hurled stones and slippers at the Shastri Bhavan that houses Union Government offices in Nungambakkams in Chennai on Monday, April 2, 2018.They were allegedly showing their ire against the Central and State governments for their failure to constitute Cauvery Water Management Board.
Around 300 activists staged a demonstration holding placards. The protest turned violent when a few activists pelted stones and threw slippers on the signboard of Shastri Bhavan located inside the campus.
Tension prevailed for sometime.
Police personnel intervened and brought the situation under control and arrested the protesters.
